Scent 1 - Foundation
This is your introduction to scentwork where you and your dog learn the core skill: searching for a specific scent.
Your dog will be introduced to the best scent for her and will be encouraged to give an active indication (dog plays with the scented article or eats the food find rather than freezing and staring or sitting in front of it.)
You will learn about the scent picture, basic handling skills, free searching and blind searches. Gain knowledge from our presentation and enjoy the personalised coaching provided by our experienced trainers in order to get it right from the very beginning. Take home notes will help remind you of what you learned.
There are no pre-requisites for dogs, or handlers, attending this workshop, all are welcome.
Please contact the trainer if you are returning to our workshops with a second, or third, dog.
Choose your workshop according to which venue and date suits you best. Most workshops run from 10am-4.30pm.
Workshops are often hosted, which means you book with the host who organises and runs the event, while a Talking Dogs Scentwork® Elite Trainer delivers the workshop on the day. Just like everyone who has had their lives and businesses impacted by Covid-19, we have had to adapt in order to keep you and us safe. Many workshops were cancelled. But finally we are able to start offering in-person workshops again. We couldn’t be more excited!
