The event is suitable for mixed ability teams, where dogs are already searching for a target scent and can carry out searches lasting more than two minutes.
How it works in practice
Teams work in small groups, moving through a series of search areas. Within each group, they take turns to search, creating a steady flow rather than long gaps where people are waiting around. Early on, there are plenty of finds, so dogs settle quickly into the work. As the session progresses and finds are removed, the searches naturally become more challenging. You don’t need to constantly adjust things to make it work. The structure does that for you.
